Six Flags Blessings

We leave Six Flags tonight with thankful hearts. Threat of thunderstorms, yet no thunder. Coupon code for a reduced rate for Stephen, free teacher and student tickets. We were able to go with our fun friends, the Weavers, and they brought Zach Bruce, so everybody had a riding partner. Stephen was able to rearrange work training classes and send out emails the night before. We had safe travels in rainy weather and Atlanta traffic. Abby's trip to the infirmary ending with a well hydrated little girl...no more vomiting or abdominal pain and 4 hours of fun left. Brody was tall enough to ride Mind Bender, his first roller coaster. When he couldn't ride, we stayed back with him, but Maria offered to do it while I was in the infirmary, to give Stephen a chance to ride. Sydney trusted God with her fears, rode scary rides, and loved them. Kevin hunted a rubberband and fixed Brody's shorts that kept falling down. Brian and Zach were troopers, entertaining the younger ones. Fun was had by all. And our wonderful neighbor, Sarah, let Carrie out FOUR times today.

Thank you, Father, for the blessings of today. And thank you for hearing our prayers.

In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; he saved me from all my troubles. Psalms 34:6 NLT

Best Swim Coaches Ever

We are truly blessed to have the best swim coaches at Woody Creek.  They've been such a huge part of our family this summer (and summers past). Each one of them came to every WCR social event, got IN the pool at practices to work on strokes, were tough when they needed to be, yet always encouraging, AND wore themselves ragged playing with kids.

We're really going to miss Coach Matt, Coach Phillip and maybe even Coach Courtney next year.  I'm so glad we know we'll still have at least Coach Joe next year. I am so thankful to have been able to know these human beings.  They are truly amazing and their love for Jesus shows in the way they coach and love on those around them.

We love you more than you know.  Our kids see Jesus in each one of you!

Light It Up

Woody Creek definitely lit up the pool this week and won the purple division again this year. Woo-hoo!  We had a great time, as usual, at divisionals.

Pasta Pump Up 2013

Tonight we enjoyed another annual Woody Creek Pasta Pump Up. Yum!

Afterwards the kids went on a scavenger hunt to collect "Light It Up" parade items for divisionals, then returned to the pool to find Woody Creek bags with Woody Creek sweatshirts.

Coach Joe offered to watch Brody on the walk and ended up carrying him the whole time because he forgot his shoes. He deserves a major award for patience! Doesn't this picture alone tell you the kind of guy Joe is? I hope God blesses him for the way he loves our kids!

Flash Flood

No kidding. That was our fire pit. Oh my!

And because of this rain we had to move our divisionals theme reveal indoors to Carolina Cheer's Fun Gym. The kids, coaches, and DADS had a blast. :)
