In the afternoon while Sydney naps and Brody has his afternoon feeding, Abby has rest time in the living room. She gets to pick out toys to take in there. This is what I walked into today:

Forget-Me-Knot
My friend, Miranda, and I purchased hairbows online. She brought them to me today at church and I was so excited. They looked so much better than the ones I made and they had a pretty knot in the center. I told Miranda I wish I'd ordered more white bows because we always seem to lose them. She agreed.
Meanwhile, Sydney and Abby were having a blast with Miranda's daughter, Haley. I was able to coherse Sydney to stop playing just long enough for me to try the white bow in her hair. As soon as I got it on her head, she took off, not wanting to miss anything. The girls were running around, giggling, drinking water from the water fountain, running in and out of the bathroom and then finally hiding behind the staircase of the children's building.
We finally left the building and once in the car and all buckled up, Abby announced, "Sydney lost her bow." (Translation: Sydney is supposed to make sure she doesn't lose her bows because I'm sure there is some rule out there that says we're NOT supposed to lose bows and boy do I love rules. Gee, I wonder where she gets it?)
Needless to say, our brand new, beautiful, center-knotted white bow was now missing. It was not in the carseat, the floorboard, under the car or on the sidewalk. I am now convinced it had fallen off when the girls were running around so hard. I went back to look under the staircase and the door to the children's center was locked.
So now I'm saddened we've misplaced the new white just-how-I-liked-it-with-a-knot-in-the-center hairbow. Just as I was sad when Sydney's left-foot shoe from her first pair of shoes disappeared from her feet and then when the right shoe from her next pair disappeared, too. I also felt that way about the denim jacket that Abby had this year that we never located. We couldn't even remember the last place we had it. Oh, and there is a sippy cup out there somwhere I would love to get the inchbug label off of!
When I get to heaven, I want to ask the Lord where all of our missing things ended up. I will most likely not care once I'm in His presence though I sure am curious now! With His help, I'll find THIS bow and all will be well again in bowland.

Mac Mania
I have to keep reminding myself of the reasons I chose my new laptop. Everywhere I go I hear people talking about Macs. I keep questioning my final decision. My indecisiveness drives ME crazy and my poor husband, bless his heart!
Here's what we got for $749:

Now why I am questioning my decision, I do not know. The Mac is cool. Super cool. But is it $2000 cool? We don't an extra $2K sitting around, no matter HOW great and seamless and virus-free and fun the MacBook is. And yes, I agree it is better. Much better. But I am $2000 happy that I have my HP Pavilion. Maybe I'll have her for 7 years, too. I need to start naming my computers! We spend a lot of time together. Any suggestions?

Solo Gateway 3500 RIP
My 7-year old laptop has been limping along for several months now. Only has 50 MB of disk space left. I've deleted everything I can, including the calculator that comes with XP.
The new computer decision has not been easy. At Best Buy, my stomach was in knots. Macs are cool, effecient, fun and great. Laptops are great because they go anywhere. I don't really know which one I preferred. Got an HP with Vista even though I know Vista is subpar. I couldn't make myself spend the extra $800 it was going to cost to get a Mac. Hoped the Apple lady last night on the phone could give me a better deal than was online. It didn't happen. Hope I made the right choice. If not, maybe when this one dies we'll get more free money from Uncle Sam again.
Installing everything has been a little bit like moving in our house. I'm determined to stay up until it's all "unpacked" and put away. I have four frappucino drinks in the fridge. May drink them all in the morning. Stephen just walked past me and called me a computer geek. Has he SEEN my old computer?!?!
