Mystery Reader

Clues:

She has white hair and brown eyes.

She was a school teacher for 30 years.

She loves to make good desserts.

She has horses on her farm and loves living in the country.

She's 97 years old.

And as far as I'm concerned she's the next grandmother a girl could ask for. What a joy to have her love my son and his 1st grade class this way today!

Halftime Exhibition - EHS vs. Christ Church

The Greenville Grizzlies were invited to play the Carolina Ravens at halftime of the Eastside High vs. Christ Church game.  When Brody was creamed by a bunch of purple jerseys, I realized this football mom thing is not for the faint of heart.  But he got up and his only complaint was that someone's cleat stepped on his arm. I'm so proud of my tough little man.

Here he is with his 8U team, he's number 22, back left:

Brody's First Scrimmage - Eastside Jamboree

Brody had his first stab at "real" football this morning.  He did great running his routes and blocking.  He even had one little dude face mask him. He practiced playing safety and left guard, but played a little linebacker for the first time today, too.

The Incident: "Oh, no you don't!"
My heart

Brody enjoyed his Gatorade!  :)

Last Day of Summer

So today was our last weekday before school starts. We cleaned the house to welcome Stephen back home, but then we packed a picnic and our bikes and headed for the Swamp Rabbit Trail. For the first time. EVER.

Fun was had by all. We drove home to enjoy coke floats, then drove to the doggie park after. Also a first time event. Carrie enjoyed her visit.

For family night we enjoyed having Stephen back! Dinner was good food with  delightful weather at the Runway Cafe, followed by worth-the-calories ice cream at Dillard's.
